WORKSHOP TESTIMONIALS:
" I simply cannot rave enough about Carl Bork's painting workshop - it was hands down some of the best money I have ever spent!! Carl is an incredible teacher and he shared a wealth of knowledge and his best tips over the course of the weekend. The timing was perfect for fall colors and Carl took us to some of his favorite spots to paint, which were absolutely stunning. The small workshop size meant each student got plenty of one on one help with Carl and he could customize the things he demonstrated to our needs. Both my husband and I were very impressed with how far my paintings progressed over the course of one weekend - from never ever painting with oils to paintings I was proud to call my own. "

“Carl’s workshop was amazing!! Over the 3 days I learned to look at light differently and appreciate the landscape in a new way. Carl is a fantastic teacher, he taught me so much about light, color theory and mixing paint. Learning plein air painting from Carl was such a unique and valuable experience. I highly recommend his workshop to anyone at any skill level. It’s a fun filled weekend making friends and painting some of the most beautiful parts of Colorado.”

"I was very pleased to attend Carl's 3 day Impressionists painting workshop held in his inspiring studio/gallery and around locations just outside of beautiful Salida, Colorado.
The workshop comprised 3 days. The first thing I wish to say is Carl has a very sincere, warm personality and a wonderful ability to take complex art theories and convey them in layman terms that the weekend artist can understand. On day one Carl gave a brief overview of his art theory then assigned several painting exercises where Carl was able to explain the theories in real terms using paint to capture light and color. Carl was able to simplify how he achieved specific effects within his paintings. Carl also introduced many of the attendees to the technique of painting with a palette knife. The best part of day one, was we were able to meet the other workshop attendees in a very positive, nurturing, creative environment that created a supportive atmosphere which carried throughout the entire weekend.
Carl then demonstrated how he paints his pictures. He presented his Impressionistic style of painting with an emphasis on light and color and explained his technique to capture his stunning images utilizing the theories we practised in his studio. He explained the way he lays out his colors on his palate and why. Then we were enthralled as the magic happened, before our eyes to close out the first day.
The next two days we applied what we had learnt and I have to say, my paintings turned out far better than I had ever expected. One of the greatest compliments I can give Carl, is that throughout the entire workshop he was beyond generous as he freely shared his many years of hard earned painting experience with countless tips and techniques. His passion for painting with his bold use of color impowered the other attendees and I to see the world around us in a new and exciting way.
Before the workshop I literally saw the natural world in black and white, where's once drab shadows existed, by the end I was seeing color."
